Efter Københavns bombardement 1807 mistede Danmark flåden til englænderne og man organiserede en landsindsamling for at få råd til en ny flåde. Af det indsamlede sølv prægedes disse mønter og teksten "Frivilligt offer til fædrelandet" gav mønten navnet "offermark". Mønten udviser spor efter tilloddet perforering
